Otegbeye, Managing Director of Regency Alliance Retires As Oseni Takes Over

The Group Managing Director of Regency Alliance Plc, Biyi Otegbeye, has retired after serving in this capacity for 30 years. He has built a formidable reputation for the firm and today, the company is reckoned to be among the best five (5) players in the non-life space of the insurance sector in Nigeria. From January 1, 2024, Bode Oseni will take over as the new Managing Director.

Announcing his retirement and the appointment of Mr. Bode Oseni as the new Managing Director, the out-going Managing Director Mr. Biyi Otegbeye described Bode as “a Marketer to the core”, who drives for high performance. Mr. Oseni is a seasoned Insurance Marketer with a wealth of hands-on experience. He joined Regency Alliance Insurance Plc in 2007 as a Regional Director, South-South and in 2008, his remarkable performance saw him become the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Regency Nem Insurance Limited, Ghana.

Bode was trained at the London School of Insurance and became an Associate, Chartered Insurance Institute of London in 1989. In addition to having an LL.B from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, he also holds an MBA from the University of Lagos.

Other senior staff members who stepped into the Executive Management positions are:

1. Mrs. Anu Shobo, who has been elevated to the position of Executive Director, Corporate Services.
2. Mr. Tunde Alao, who takes over from Mr. Keyinde Oyadiran as Executive Director, Finance.
3. Mr. Akin Omodele now becomes the Executive Director, Operations, replacing the erstwhile Executive Director, Operations, Dr. Sammy Olaniyi. Both Dr. Sammy Olaniyi and Mr. Kehinde Oyadiran retain their seats on the board in non-executive capacities. All these changes are subject to ratification by NAICOM.

Mr. Biyi Otegbeye wished the new Executive Management team well and charged them with the responsibility of taking Regency Alliance Insurance Plc to greater heights.
