Otegbeye Assures Agrarian Community, Tiluba of Social Amenities As Students Express Their Faith in BOT

Sharing is caring!

Biyi Otegbeye (BOT), the gubernatorial candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ogun State has assured the people of Tiluba, a Community of over 100 villages in Ijebu-Igbo axis at the border of Ondo State in Ijebu North Local Government, of government’s presence if elected Governor in the March 11th election.

Otegbeye, whose campaign train is in its second day at Ijebu North Local Government Area, was received by the people who bemoaned the government’s neglect of the area. Tiluba, which is 15 kilometres away from Apoje Farm Settlement, is an agrarian community.

Speaking through its leader, Alhaji Fatai Babalola, the community told Otegbeye not to forget them if he is elected Governor of Ogun State. He said,’It’s been hard to convey their produce to the market due to bad roads. He also said they need a health care facility as well as a ‘ bore hole’.

Responding, Otegbeye said, ” One of our cardinal agenda of pathway to prosperity is to enhance liveable communities and create new towns. We shall enhance the living conditions of our people, especially productive communities like Tiluba. We will bring health care to the reach of the people no matter where they live. “

Otegbeye further stated that “Development of People-Focused Infrastructure, which is an integral part of our manifestos, is targeted at those factors that will enhance our agricultural value chains. This will create more direct and indirect jobs as well as enhance the economy of the State’

The students of Jolayemi Great Academy, the only school in that axis, trooped out en masse to receive Otegbeye. They came out dancing while chanting “BOT for Governor.”

They had a lively interaction with the gubernatorial candidate while expressing their ambitions in life. The Senior Boy of the School, Idris Balogun, said their school needs the government’s assistance. The students took turns to tell Otegbeye what they intend to become in the future. While some of them want to become Doctors, lawyers, and Engineers, Balogun wants to become president. Another student, Jide Babatunde, told Otegbeye he would love to become Governor of Ogun State one day.

Otegbeye, while appreciating the students for their show of love, admonished them to be responsible and hard working. He encouraged them to study very well while assuring them of a better future when he becomes the governor of the state.

Earlier, Otegbeye and his deputy, Alhaji Tunde Awonuga, as well as other leaders of the party, were at the Palace of Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, Oba Lawrence Adewale Adebajo. Other monarchs present at the Palace are Sopen Lukale of Oke Sopen, Olokini of Ojo, Gbejeroku of Oke Agbo, Kegbo Atikori and Abijaparako of Ijapara.

Otegbeye said ADC was not a new party because it had a good showing in the 2019 general elections scoring over 100,000 votes in the last gubernatorial election.

“Kabiyesi, ADC is not a new party because it had a good showing winning three House of Assembly members and one House of Representative member in the 2019 elections. The party scored over 100,000 votes in the governorship election. The old members of ADC are there, and the party has also welcomed many. Over 60% of the APC, as constituted last year have also joined the ADC in August of 2022. We have a strong party, and we are winning this election by the grace of God. “

“Ijebu-Igbo is known to have played strong political roles in the state. In fact, out of the seven senators that represented Ogun East, Ijebu-Igbo alone produced six. It’s unfortunate that this strong political town is being denied its rightful position. We are also not unmindful of the situation at the Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic and its attendant tension. Our government will right the wrongs and repair the broken systems. I am home because my mother is from Ijebu Odopotu, in Ijebu North East, Kabiyesi, I feel at home, “Otegbeye concluded.

The monarch prayed for Otegbeye and wished him success in his gubernatorial ambition. He noted that as a son of Ijebuland, Otegbeye will secure the support of the people because Ijebus don’t abandon their own. Those who were in the entourage of Otegbeye include Chief Derin Adebiyi, Rt. Hon Muyiwa Oladipo, Director General of Otegbeye Campaign Council, Otunba Rotimi Paseda, former gubernatorial candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Rt. Hon Bolanle Gbeleyi, former Deputy Speaker of Ogun State; Chief Wole Adesiji and Chief Wole Elegbede. Others are Hon. Tunde Sanusi, Alh Moshood Akinyele, Arch. Sunday Otegbeye, Alh. Oyesiku Amosun, Agbaakin Taofik Olabode and Hon. Toyin Ayebusiwa.
