Two confirmed dead in Air Force chopper crash

Defence Headquarters on Monday confirmed the death of two persons in the ill-fated training helicopter of the Nigerian Air Force.

One of the pilots of the chopper was said to have survived.

A statement by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, said the second pilot and the technician onboard, died in the crash.

Olukolade said the rescue operation for the Mi-35 Helicopter was ongoing.

DHQ had earlier on Monday announced the crash of the aircraft in the Bama area of Borno State, adding that the crash was not as a result of terrorist activities.
