In a press release issued by his media office to congratulate the new Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola and to celebrate the 2022 Owu Day being held today, Saturday, 29th October 2022, Otegbeye said “our traditional institutions must be given a pride of place in political administration in order to foster unity and peace across the length and breadth of the state”.

The top insurance executive said just like there are Houses or Councils of Chiefs in some developed countries, he hopes to tap into the wisdom and wealth of experience of the royal fathers to run a smooth administration and drive unprecedented growth in the State.

Otegbeye congratulated Oba Matemilola on his enthronement, describing it as a call to duty in the service of tradition and culture of his people, and the entire humanity. He said he has no doubt that Owu Kingdom will witness profound peace  and stupendous development going by the godly disposition, educational pedigree,  philanthropic activities and track record of the new Oba.

“Kabiyesi, your selection by the Kingmakers, appointment by the state government and coronation have been ordained by God. I therefore thank God for His mercies and the honour He bestowed upon you. May you reign long on the throne of your forefathers”, he stated.

The ADC Governorship candidate urged Owu people to cooperate with Oba Matemilola in the interest of harmony of Owu Kingdom, saying that he will develop a good working relationship with  traditional rulers across the state for the overall advancement of Ogun State.
