Multiple Explosions Rocked Kano: Killed Several Persons

Multiple bomb attacks which rocked the commercial city of Kano on Friday is believed to have killed at least three policemen and several civilians; although exact casualty figure was sketchy at the time of filling this report. NigerianEcho gathered that the explosions which was also said to have been accompanied by sporadic gunshots created confusion in the city as people were seen running helter-skelter for dear lives.

 

According to our source, one of the blasts occurred at the Federal Police headquarters in the ancient city, while two other police stations were also rocked by explosions. The blasts was reportedly followed by gunshots in many parts of the city and according to Mohammed Kanoma, the Nigeria immigration spokesperson in the state, three officers of the Agency were killed as well as unknown number of civilians in one of the blast that rocked the immigration office in the state.

 

Another report says three policemen and a journalist were killed while several individuals were injured in the attack on the federal police headquarters in the city. Meanwhile, Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the multiple blasts. According to BBC Hausa Service, a spokesperson for the group called and claimed responsibility for the Friday’s attacks on Kano city where at least four bombs exploded with unspecified number of death.
