Extortion: “N100 Police Women” knows fate today

Lagos Police Command has concluded their orderly room trial for the Two Nigerian police women attached to the Traffic Unit of Makinde Police Station, Mafoluku, Lagos, caught on camera demanding and receiving a bribe of N100 from a commercial driver along the Apapa-Oshodi expressway in Lagos.

The Police women identified as Corporals Elizabeth Itona and Jenifer Azingbe, have been facing orderly room trial since the time of their arrest, the trial is expected to be conclude today (Monday) bearing any last minute changes.

Relatives of the women were seen at Makinde Police Station demanding to know their whereabouts, some were begging the police authorities to forgive the women.

NigerianEcho sources close to the police authorities said their case shall be concluded especially because of Corporal Azingbe who is in detention with her seven-month-old baby. “The husband and her people has been coming to beg on daily basis pleading for her release.” The source said.

It will be recalled that the Nigerian Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar ordered the dismissal of Omoleze and the same fate may befall the two police women.

A youtube video posted showed a policewoman demanding N100 from a commercial bus driver in Oshodi. One of the commuters in the bus recorded the extortion negotiation showing the driver appealing to the policewoman who had stopped the bus from moving after picking commuter from an illegal point on the expressway.

The driver’s plead for clemency fell on deaf ears, He was forced to shout, “Don’t abuse me because of N100. How much is N100? Me I don pass N100.”

The policewoman was adamant as she replied, “E no concern me. Pay me my own money.”

“Give her N100. I will return it to you later,” the driver said in Yoruba.

The policewoman disembarked from the bus after collecting the N100 in company with another colleague walked away from the bus to their duty post of controlling traffic.
