Commonwealth Games: Okagbare sets fastest heat record

Nigeria’s medal hopeful, Blessing Okagbare, has qualified for the second round of the women’s 100 meters event at the ongoing Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The African fastest woman breast the tape on the dot of 11.20 seconds to set the heats fastest record at the Games.

Team England sprinters – Sophie Papps, Asha Philip and Bianca Williams – have all qualified from the 100m heats to reach the second round at the Games but, they were still behind Nigerian sprinter. Phillips in her race set 11.47secs while Papps set time of 11.53secs.
The next round takes place on Monday.
