There are indications that the European champions, Chelsea are ready to make an improved bid for Wigan striker, Victor Moses after their three attempts failed. The London club are reported to be lining up £6.5million plus other incentives.

Moses, who has just 12 months remaining on his contract has refused to sign a new one for the Latics. Wigan have already rejected three bids from Chelsea for the skilful player.

The highest offer to go in so far is believed to be £5million, while Chelsea have also tried offering fringe players on loan in the hope that could swing the deal, however Latics have so far resisted.

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan wants £10million for the 21-year-old in a straight cash deal but it remains to be seen if Chelsea will go that high even if they do rate him highly.

It is believed the offer of £6.5million with other incentives that will take it closer to Wigan’s valuation, will be the last attempt at getting the player failing which Roberto Di Matteo will switch to other targets if he is not successful.

Liverpool and QPR are also interested but have not made a bid.
