Yobo becomes a Free Agent as Fenerbahce agree to End Contract
Fenerbahce have agreed to end Joseph Yobo’s contract less than a year before the agreement would have expired.
The Nigerian defender was affected by the foreign quota rule in the Turkish Super Lig and wasn’t registered by the club for the championship, which will begin this weekend. He could also be stuck at the club as his transfer fee was fixed at 1.5 million Euros and considered overrated.
Yobo also reportedly threatened to take Fenerbahce’s case to FIFA if the club failed to release him from his deal prematurely, since he was not in their plans for the upcoming season.
The former Nigerian skipper who was at the club for four years, made 90 appearances and scored 3 goals.
