We’ll reconcile Osoba with Amosun – APC

All Progressives Congress on Sunday said it will do everything possible to resolve the crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of the party which had led to a rift between the state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and a chieftain of the party, Chief Olusegun Osoba.

The crisis which led to parallel congresses in the state had deepened with Osoba, who is a former governor of the state, foreclosing reconciliation with the incumbent governor.

Speaking at a consultative meeting with his loyalists at his Ibara home in Abeokuta on Thursday, Osoba said neither the intervention by traditional rulers nor the national leadership who might suggest harmonisation of the executive in any format would make him change his stance.

He added he would not accept an apology from APC leaders or Amosun.

While addressing his loyalists, mostly drawn from the 20 local government areas in the state, Osoba said his faction had reached some decisions which he held dear to his heart.

However, the Interim National Publicity Secretary of APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, as reported by The Punch said, the problem between Osoba and Amosun was exaggerated, adding that the leadership of the party had intervened and would reconcile both parties.

“The issue between them is largely exaggerated. But one thing you should know is that APC will not leave any stone unturned to resolve the problem between them and it’s already doing so,” Mohammed said.

Osoba had, on Saturday, denied having any rift with Amosun. He said rather than see him as a contender, Amosun should approach party members in the state for an amicable settlement of any presumed rift.
