UN-World Ambassador For Goodwill: CSOs Applaud Sanwo-Olu, Want Him To Do More

Coalition of Civil Society Organizations has applauded the award of the “United Nations’ Most Distinguished World Ambassador for Goodwill” ( WAG-UN) to Governor Babajide Olusola SanwoOlu by the Anambra State, Awka-based United Nations Peace and Positive Living Awareness Centre, UN-PEPOLAG, urging the Governor not to relent in his determination to execute the developmental templates to transform Lagos State into an economically viable, socially stable, cosmopolitan mega-city.
The Award was presented at the commemoration of 2023 World Peace Day to Governor Sanwo-Olu by the International Coordinator of UN-PEPOLAC, Amb. Bishop Festus Ozioma in recognition of the Governor’s leading roles in entrenching a stable, peaceful polity, fostering unity among political, tribal, religious and organizations domiciled in Lagos State as well as strides at actualizing the United Nations’ Sustainable Social Development Goals (UN-SDGs).
The Coalition, while noting that the Award is deservedly in recognition natural mien of the Governor as a peace-builder, patriotic-nationalist and developmentalist, called on him to remain focused and committed to the developmental agenda for the State. “This Award is another nod for Mr.Babajide Sanwo-Olu to be resolute and steadfast in following through the developmental blueprints of ensuring Lagos becomes a first port of destination for global investment and home for global citizens as the fastest, growing mega-city in Africa”.
The Coalition noted that the Governor should be wary of detractors and overt or subtle attempts to disrupts or corrupt the processes for implementing the developmental agenda of Lagos State. The Coalition strongly avows that the Governor is well positioned at this historic juncture to reposition the State as stable, growing economy. Peace, Honor and Goodwill are requisite for any society to embark on sustainable developmental flights, Governor Sanwo-Olu possess these qualities to take Lagos State into a vantage positioning for global investment, habitation and sustainable, holistic development
