President Jonathan Charges Muslims On Ramadan
Nigerian Muslims have been admonished to use the period of Ramadan to pray for peace and unity of the Country. This call was made by President Goodluck Jonathan in his message to Muslims as they embark on a month of fasting and praying.
He enjoined them to use the lessons of perseverance, endurance and empathy for the less privileged associated with the holy month of Ramadan in their day to day activities. He said the holy Prophet, Muhammed, may the peace of Allah be with him, lived a life that was an example for all muslims.
The Ramadan moon was sighted on Thursday night which signalled the commencement of the Islamic fasting. Fasting is one of the pillars of Islam and all muslims are expected to fast in this month.
