Osogbo Stands Still For Oyinlola
The chairman of the occasion, Godswill Akpabio, the Governor of Akwa-Ibom, represented by the Secretary to the State Government described Oyinlola as a bridge builder. Olagunsoye who is known to have ended an age long fued between two prominent Yoruba historical towns; Modakeke and Ife was also responsible for the reconciliation of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his Vice, Atiku Abubakar after a protracted quarrel.
The Governor of of Kwara State, Abdulfattah Ahmed, described Oyinlola as a humble and committed democrat who would do anything to defend the Country and its general coexistence. Dr. Ezekiel Adeniji, the Executive Chairman of the governing board of Federal Road maintenance Agency, FERMA and Lere Oyewumi, a Federal Commissioner in the National Population Commission both indigenes of Osun State were also honoured at the reception.
Speaking on the occasion, Oyinlola, who has just written his final examinations at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja said “the process of reclaiming of the south west has begun”. While thanking the people and his party for the supports at all times, Oyinlola said his commitment to democracy, rule of law, justice and good governance as well as party discipline is unflagging.
President Goodluck Jonathan was represented at the occasion by his Special Adviser on Inter Party Affairs, Senator Ben Obi. Obi who spoke both in English and Yoruba languages commended the party members in Osun State for the honour bestowed on Oyinlola. He said Oyinlola has done well as a military officer, as the military administrator of Lagos State and even as civilian Governor of Osun State.
Other dignitaries at the event include: Erelu Sola Obada, Minister of State for Defence; Ahmed Gulak, Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs; Adebayo Alao-Akala, former Governor of Oyo state, Segun Oni, National Vice-Chairman of PDP, south west and Sen. Isiaka Adeleke.
