Onyeka Onwenu Appointed NCWD CEO
Veteran singer, actress and politician Onyeka Onwenu has added another feather to her cap as she has been appointed the Executive Director (Chief Executive Officer) of the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD), Abuja by President Goodluck Jonathan.
52-year-old Onwenu,an indigene of Onitsha, Anambra State, is an award-winning actress, judge on the just completed 
Glo X-Factor show and the former chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts.
She is an active member of the PDP and has since 1999 tried to contest election as the chairman of Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State several times but was denied the opportunity by the past governors of the state.
Onwenu’s 4-term-appointment was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF),Senator Ayim Pius Ayim, and is effective from September 13, 2013.
