OGUN POLICE DISLODGE SUSPECTED ARMED  ROBBERS, ARREST FIVE WITH BULLET WOUNDS

The Police detectives attached to Sagamu and Odogbolu Divisions of the command have dislodged and arrested five  suspected armed robbers who have been terrorizing the good people of the two affected areas within the state on Tuesday 15th September at 1730hrs and 2130hrs respectively.

The police detectives attached to Sagamu Division of the command, while responding to a distress call from Atoyo area of Sagamu in Sagamu Local Governmet Area of the state, caught the suspected armed robbers in the act and four of them including Abdul Sulaiman,Awonusi Tola,m,Aliu Sulaiman,m,and Dada Fred,m,were arrested. Items recovered from them included guns and their operational motorcycle.

In another development,the detectives attached to Odogbolu Division of the command,with the help of men of the Vigilante Services of Ogun State,arrested a suspected armed robber on Tuesday at about 2139hrs at Ayegbe town in Odogbolu Local Governmet Area of the state.

The police detectives ,who were responding to distress call from the town that the suspected armed men had gained entrance into the house of a landlord (name withheld) ,swung into action,dislodged the robbers and eventually arrested a suspect,Yekini Adesonya,30,of Songo village Ogun State,with bullet wounds.

The suspected armed robbers had shot and wounded a resident of the Ayegbe before the arrival of the police and Vigilante  Services ,though the injured innocent man was rescued and taken to the hospital by the police. He is responding to treatment.

The Commissioner of. Police. Ogun state CP Abdulmajid Ali has directed that the suspects be transferred to Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence in Eleweran Abeokuta for proper investigation and prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police has however appreciated the members of those affected communities who made distress calls to the police for their interest and support in having adequate security in the state. He assured that the police command will leave no stone unturned to relegate and suppress any criminals or hoodlums who want to disturb the existing peace the good people of Ogun state enjoy at the moment.
