Sharing is caring!

With few days to the rescheduled March 18th Gubernatorial and Houses of Assembly elections, a frontline governorship hopeful in Ogun State has promised to implement a deliberate policy of ethnic inclusion.

Speaking at the weekend during an interactive session with representatives of various ethnic groups resident in the state, the Gubernatorial Candidate of African Democratic Congress ADC, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye said his administration will ensure that everyone living in Ogun State, irrespective of their ethnicity, will be duly involved in the task of governance.

Otegbeye assured that the ADC administration will give effect to the logo of his party which indicates, cooperation and shared prosperity.

According to him, “I have listened to your observations, complaints and demand; and I sincerely assure you that the next government under my watch will not pay lip service to the interest of all ethnic nationalities resident in Ogun State”.

“I regard all of us, be it Igbo, Hausa, Niger-Delta and the Middle belt as one and working for the progress and development of this state. Some of you have lived here for upward of 40 years. You married here, birthed your children here and built houses with thriving businesses here. You are an integral part of the evolution of this state and as such will be treated as indigenes and partners in success.

Speaking earlier, the Coordinator of the group Nze Fidelis Anyanwu commended Otegbeye for the clarity of his vision and plans for Ogun State.

He said, “We have followed your campaigns and I must say we are impressed with your plans for the state. As business owners, we are always concerned about a government’s plan on how to ensure peaceful communal living among the people, general security and promotion of enterprise.

“On these items which are contained in some of your five points agenda, you have done well with your ideas and we hope you will live up to your promises if elected. We will support and vote for you massively”; He added.

The ADC flagbearer, told the meeting that he would practice true inclusiveness that is backed with integration .

“My administration will be people-focused and have spaces for non-indigenes of the state”.
