Obasanjo To RMAFC: Sharing should be based on responsibilities

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission have been advised by the past president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to make the sharing of the nation’s revenue among different levels of governments proportionate to their responsibilities.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo made this known in his Abeokuta home on Monday when members of the RMAFC made a visit to him ahead of the proposed review of the existing revenue sharing formulae.
“The need for the quantification of responsibilities of the different tiers of governments is necessary for a fair and equitable revenue sharing formula.”- Obasanjo
He further added that the commission should engage the service of experts to avoid unequal distribution of the nations revenue.
