The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate in the 2023 elections, Barrister Biyi Otegbeye, also known as BOT, has called for hard work and perseverance among the Ogun State citizenry in 2023 in order to overcome the difficult living conditions in the land.
He made the call in a new year message, saying that there is need for the citizens to build strong mental defenses against the tough times because light will soon appear at the end of the tunnel.
Quoting the title of a book by an American televangelist, Robert Harold Schuller “Tough Times Never Last But Tough People Do”, Otegbeye said only people who are tenacious will win the battle against the hard situations of life.
The ADC flagbearer urged the people to ensure that they obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on time.
“It is only through the ballot that the people can reject the present hardship, insecurity and sufferings caused by the insensitivity of the present administration”, Otegbeye advised.
He asked the citizens to show love to fellow citizens, while those who are blessed should not hesitate to help the needy in accordance with the injunctions of the Holy Books.
According to him, people should embrace decent behaviors and must obey the laws so that they do not run into problems with the security agencies.
He then prayed for the protection and security of the citizens in 2023, saying the new year will bode well for everyone.
