EbonyLife hosts first ever Nollywood Virtual Red Carpet Premiere

The Ebonylife and Netflix Original Movie ‘Òlòtūré’ has garnered rave and approval from Nollywood fans and industry critics after it’s release on Netflix on Friday the 2nd of October,2020. The movie was first released in 2019 and was viewed exclusively at private screenings in Lagos, Tunisia, and Los Angeles. Anticipation for the release of the Movie on Netflix became high after the trailer of the movie was released on Netflix and it was marketed as the second Nigerian Netflix Original movie.

On Friday 2nd October at 7:00 p.m., the cast, producers and Nollywood celebrities began sharing photos from the virtual premiere red carpet, using the hashtags #Oloture #OlotureTheMovie and at 8:00 p.m. (WAT) viewers were invited to join the fun by tuning in to the Netflix Watch Party and chat to Mo Abudu, cast members and crew, directly via live chat. Celebrity guests were been asked to wear black to highlight the seriousness of the movie’s theme and to show support for women’s rights.

The event is a first for Nollywood and executive producer Mo Abudu was set in her determination to ensure that EbonyLife fans were included, even if there was no physical event to attend, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
