Arsenal close to a deal for Mudryk

Sharing is caring!

Report by The Telegraph has it that Arsenal are closing in on a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk, to sign highly-rated Ukrainian winger, Mykhaylo Mudryk.

This came on the heels of a new  £70m bid tabled by the English side.  Shakhtar have consistently claimed that they would want a fee worth in the region of £88m for the 21-year-old.

However, the new bid is expected to reach £80m in add-ons, suggesting that both sides could be finally close to a deal.

Mudryk had made his intentions clear that Arsenal is his most preferred destination, with several social media posts showing his ardent followership of the club’s games.

Chelsea recently showed interest in the winger, but are believed to have backed out, this paving the way for Arsenal.

The fee will make Mudryk the most expensive player in Arsenal history, beating the record of out-of-favour Nicolas Pepe, who was signed for £72m.
