APC Will Sweep 2027 Polls In Ogun State, says ex-Rep, Oladele
A former Chairman of the House of Representatives on financial crimes, Hon. Kayode Oladele, has said that All Progressive Congress, APC, will record a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections in the state. He noted that the expanding grassroots structure of the party and the growing acceptance of its governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, widely known as Yayi are the reason for his optimism which will ensure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as in National and State Assembly contests across the state.
Oladele spoke on Tuesday in Abeokuta during the formal inauguration of 31,806 members of the Door-to-Door Team Yayi at the Ake Pavilion, describing the exercise as a major boost to the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts.
According to him, the newly inaugurated canvassers will serve as a crucial link between the campaign and voters in communities across Ogun State, helping to take the APC’s message directly to the people.
“The strength of democracy lies with the people. Elections are decided by ordinary men and women who believe their votes can shape their lives and communities.
“That is why a door-to-door campaign is important. It takes politics away from the podium and brings it into direct conversation with the people. Our duty is simple: meet the people, listen to them, respect them and earn their confidence,” he added.
Oladele described Senator Adeola as a seasoned public servant whose political career has traversed the Lagos State House of Assembly, the House of Representatives and the Senate, where he currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations.
He reminded the canvassers that their inauguration was more than a ceremonial event, saying each member had become an ambassador of the Yayi movement within their respective communities.
Oladele disclosed that mobilisation structures were being strengthened across all three senatorial districts and at the polling-unit level, stressing that effective organisation would be critical to electoral success.
“There is enthusiasm, but it must be transformed into organisation, and organisation must be transformed into votes,” he said.
He urged the canvassers to build meaningful relationships with voters and understand the concerns of youths, traders, farmers, artisans, teachers and professionals.
According to him, Adeola’s popularity has continued to expand beyond Ogun West, reflecting what he described as a broad-based political movement across the state.
Oladele identified education, infrastructure, security, human capital development and economic empowerment as the key pillars of the campaign.
“Our responsibility is to take these issues to the people and also bring the people’s concerns back to the campaign. A successful door-to-door campaign must be a two-way conversation. We must speak, but we must also listen,” he said.
While expressing confidence in the APC’s grassroots structure and electoral prospects, Oladele maintained that party supporters must remain focused until the election is concluded.
“The 31,806 canvassers being inaugurated today represent 31,806 points of contact with the people. If every one of you does this assignment with commitment, discipline and sincerity, the impact across Ogun State will be enormous.
“With the support of the people, I am confident that the APC will sweep the polls in Ogun State and Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi will emerge as the next governor of Ogun State,” he said.
