2027: Continue to Trust YAYI as Undisputed Choice for Ogun Guber – Adeniji

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and convener of the Ogun West Initiative, Olootu Bolaji Adeniji, has urged citizens of Ogun State to continue to place their trust in Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, as the undisputed choice for governor in the 2027 elections.

Speaking at a media engagement in Abeokuta on Wednesday, Adeniji commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he described as one of the most peaceful and historic primary elections in Nigeria. He noted that YAYI’s emergence as the party’s gubernatorial candidate was the product of a consensus process that united the incumbent governor, former governors, deputy governors, legislators, and party leaders across all 20 local government areas of the state.

According to Adeniji, YAYI’s overwhelming endorsement was further validated when he secured 304,055 votes in the primaries, defeating his sole challenger, Abayomi Hunye, who recorded zero votes. He dismissed Hunye’s subsequent litigation as being “without merit” and described it as a distraction that would soon collapse.

Adeniji also took aim at opposition figures, including Honourable Ladi Adebutu of the PDP, whom he described as a perennial contestant with no real capacity or popularity. He criticized attempts to revive debates about YAYI’s indigeneship, calling such narratives “dead, defeated, and irrelevant,” while affirming Adeola’s Yewa roots.

On the recent exit of Senator Iyabo Obasanjo from the APC, Adeniji said her departure was inconsequential, stressing that she had no stake in the party’s growth or goodwill.

Reassuring Ogun citizens, Adeniji emphasized that YAYI represents competence, vision, and progress, and will soon unveil his manifesto and economic blueprint aimed at driving exponential growth and development in the Gateway State.

“Let us rise above distractions and embrace the future. Ogun State deserves a leader of vision, capacity, and credibility. That leader is Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola YAYI,” Adeniji declared.

He concluded by calling on the people to march into 2027 with confidence and unity, affirming that the state is destined for greatness under YAYI’s leadership.
