Zone 2 Police Boss, Hassan, Visits Ogun Command

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge zone 2 command, onikan, Lagos, AIG Bala Hassan, has visited the Ogun state police command on tour of inspection to lecture officers and men of the command on principles and ethics of modern and people-oriented policing in line with the policies of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase.

The Police Boss, according to a release by the Ogun Police Command PRO, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, commenced his tour of inspection of the state on Wednesday 7th October with visits to the Executive Governor of Ogun state Sen Ibikunle Amosun, and the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo.  

The AIG, was said to have addressed a cross section of Officers and men of the command at the state headquarters Eleweran Abeokuta before he proceeded to the police officers mess GRA Ibara Abeokuta where he addressed members of the PCRC and some stakeholders.

AIG Hassan, who oversees police affairs in Ogun and Lagos state Commands, emphasised more on the need for police personnel to shun incivility to members of the public, misuse or excessive use of power, accidental discharge, extortion and corrupt practices as the new management of the Police has zero tolerance for any unethical and inappropriate conducts.

He was accompanied on his tour within the state by the Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali, members of the management team of Ogun State command, DCP Isaac Akin, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Zone 2 command Lagos and the zonal Police Public Relations Officer CSP Adebowale Lawal.

AIG Bala Hassan re-echoed the promises of the Inspector General of Police IGP Solomon Arase on robust welfare package for police personnel across board and prompt promotions for deserving members of the Police Force, including the specialists.

The Police boss did not fail to commend the Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali and officers and men of the command for their Good job as the command has not recorded any violent crimes, particularly Bank robbery, in the last 4 years. He however promised to support the command to sustain the tempo and even improve on it. 

The tour of inspection by the AIG, according to the release will end on Friday, 9th October when he must have visited the 5 area commands Headquarters namely  Abeokuta, Sagamu, Otta, Ijebu-Ode and Ilaro, in the state and the border areas where he is expected to address other sister security agencies including customs Services at Idiroko border on friday.
