Zaha Back at Crystal Palace on Loan
Manchester United have agreed to loan Wilfried Zaha back to his former club Crystal Palace on a season-long deal.
The winger joined United from Palace in January 2013 in a £15m deal, and made just two Premier League appearances for the club before spending the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff City. In his previous spell with Palace, he scored 18 goals in 143 appearances.
After his transfer, the 21-year-old said: “I’m just buzzing to be back, to be in and around the lads again. There have been rumours for a while, but it was only yesterday that it got sorted out and I am happy because I just need to get out and play. The best place to come back to is Palace where I am loved.”
The club’s new manager Neil Warnock, speaking in a news conference on Thursday, had also expressed optimism over the completion of the deal.
Warnock said: “We’re very close, we’ve agreed everything, there’s just a few little bits insurance-wise. The forms are signed from our end, and I’ve spoken to Wilfried.”
Zaha’s first appearance for Palace will likely be against Newcastle on Saturday.
