You Are A Liar: Group Tells National Secretary of PDP
A statement released in Abuja today by a group which styles itself as PDP Patriots has accused the camp of Prof. Wale Oladipo of resorting to planting misleading stories in newspapers as a means of further confusing members of the public on the intra-party feud in the PDP and for the purpose of staying in office illegally as the national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The group questioned the story on the purported adoption of Oladipo by leaders of South-west zone at a meeting held in the residence of Chief Olabode George last monday night and asserts that it is inaccurate and does not reflect the position adopted at the meeting.
”It is simply criminal that people would go to this extent in order to satisfy their lust for office and this is a clear signal to party chieftains that they are dealing with dishonest people who should never be trusted”, the group said.
PDP Patriot noted that the story which appeared in some Nigerian dailies shows desperation on the part of some politicians who have continued to desecrate the constitution of the PDP. It added that the South-west leaders never adopted Oladipo for presentation at any national convention and no communique was issued at the end of the meeting presided over by Chief Olabode George. The meeting merely agreed to pursue a path of peace that would allow for the amicable resolution of the PDP leadership crises.
“Some pertinent questions arise: When is the national convention holding and why the undue haste to pronounce a particular interested person a candidate of the South-west zone when the highest court of the land is yet to pronounce on the matter? Does this portray these hustlers as people who have respect for the Judiciary, PDP constitution and the rule of law? What interests are these people serving such that they are out to bring the Judiciary and the PDP to disrepute?
” Do these people believe in democracy and democratic ideals knowing fully well that the position of PDP national secretary is zoned to the South-west and not Osun State? In what manner was Dr. Akintoye, a complete gentleman who acted as national secretary before Oladipo’s irregular appointment was made removed? How was Akintoye compensated after his removal other than the chairmanship of the board he held before his appointment? What is the real agenda of the Oladipo group?”, PDP Patriot retorted.
It therefore appealed to members of the press and the public to be wary of publications from desperate politicians who cause falsehood to be published, thus calling to question the credibility and integrity of peddlers of falsehood to hold any position of trust. The release challenged Oladipo and his group to publish a communique of the meeting as adopted at the residence of Chief Olabode George last Monday.
