Yero, former Deputy Gov of Kaduna Sworn-in As Governor

Following the death of the Governor of Kaduna State, Patrick Yakowa in an air crash on Saturday which also claimed the live of Adrew Azazi, former National Security Adviser; the former Deputy Governor Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has been sworn in as the Governor of the northern state.

Mr. Yero, a close ally of Vice President Namadi Sambo was born on 1st May 1969 in Anguwan Kaura,Zaria local government. He had his primary education at LEA Primary School Kaura, 1974-1980, and secondary education at Government Secondary School, Ikara and Government Day Secondary School, Zaria.

He bagged a diploma in Banking in 1988, a B.Sc in Accounting in 1991, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2003.

During the mandatory National Youth Service Corps, he served in Ogun State, he worked in several private firms and banks.

In 1997, he joined Nalado Nigeria Limited, Kaduna, a company owned by his mentor and Vice President Namadi Sambo as Chief Accountant, rising to become its Director of Finance and Administration.

He became Commissioner of Finance when Sambo was elected governor of Kaduna State in 2007 and was subsequently chosen deputy governor to Yakowa in 2010.

This is definitely a hard time for the political class in Nigeria as it has been bedevilled with chains of calamities.

Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai is still battling with brain damage and has been on life threatening condition in a German hospital as reported since October 25th 2012 after he private jet crashed.

Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, has been in an india hospital since 9th september 2012. It was reported that he is in a life threatening condition. In fact, it was rumoured in the early hours of Sunday that he has passed on.

Cross River Governor, Liyel Imoke,  travelled to United Kingdom for medical check up and has remained in an undisclosed hospital since the first week of November 2012 and his health condition is reported to be getting  worse by the day.
