World Cup: Out of Form Yobo Makes Keshi’s Final 23-Men List As AFCON Hero, Mba Dropped

Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Stephen Keshi has released his final 23-man squad list for the World Cup which begins on June 12 and ends on July 13 in Brazil. The Nation’s Cup hero, Sunday Mba didn’t make the list but out of form Joseph Yobo made it.

The list boasts of 3 Goalkeepers, 8 Defenders, 5 Midfielders, 7 Strikers consisting of 20 Foreign-based players and 3 Home-based players.

Also noticeable on the list are players who previously had forfeited spaces in the Super Eagles line-up, especially, Osaze Odemwingie and Joseph Yobo.

Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama (LOSC Lille), Austin Ejide (Hapoel Be’er Sheva), Chigozie Agbim (Gombe United FC).

Defenders: Joseph Yobo (Norwich City), Elderson Echiejile (AS Monaco), Juwon Oshaniwa(Ashdod SC), Godfrey Oboabona(Çaykur Rizespor), Azubuike Egwuekwe(Warri Wolves), Kenneth Omeruo(Chelsea FC), Efe Ambrose(Celtic FC), Kunle Odunlami(Sunshine Stars).

Midfielders: John Mikel Obi(Chelsea FC), Ogenyi Onazi(Lazio), Ramon Azeez(UD Almeria), Michael Uchebo(SV Cercle Bruges), Reuben Gabriel(Waasland-Beveren).

Strikers: Osaze Odemwingie(Stoke City FC), Ahmed Musa(CSKA Moscow), Shola Ameobi(Newcastle FC), Emmanuel Emenike(Fenerbahce), Babatunde Michael(Volyn Lutsk), Victor Moses(Chelsea FC), Uche Nwofor(Heerenveen).
