Ogun State is marking 40 years anniversary is the matter of the moment which the state government have chosen to celebrate in grand style. That the present adminstration in the state has designated some projects for commissioning to mark the celebration ordinarily should be applauded by citizen from all sections of the State but the truth must be told that our Governor since day one in office had embarked on a deliberate agenda to further marginalised YEWALAND and Ogun west to visit the alleged sins of our genuine intention to seek equity through the office of the Governor at the last two opportunities.

It is a known fact that Ogun State at creation was instituted on four Administrative divisions namely 1. Egba 2.Ijebu 3.Remo and 4. Egbado that later became Yewa.

These administrative Division became the yardstick for sharing of state resources and for equitable distribution of developmental projects. The four Administrative divisions later paved way to the three Senatorial districts of 1.Ogun West 2. Ogun East and 3.Ogun Central on the basis of equity as enshrinedin in the 1999 constitution for administrative exigenciesIt is a known fact that Yewa bloc or the Ogun west senatorial district till date have not produced Governor hence the continued agitation of the people to seek thè face of God and support of the rest of the state. Our first offence was that Our sons General Olurin and GNI contested the 2011election with Governor Amosun and the people of Yewa voted for PDP candidate General Olurin.

I don’t know what else the Governor expect from a people who had not tasted the office of the Governor of theState. Surprisingly it was General Olurin who first congratulated him and even made a surprised appearance at the first Budget presentation of His Excellency against the principle of opposition role expected of the General.

The second offence was that Our son Hon.Akinlade also contested the position with him in his party ACN then with some levelsof stiff resistance culminating in Akinlade defection to PDP to realise his ambition at the next turn.

Just because Akinlade is from Owode yewa the worst road in Ogun State today is Ilaro -Owode-Ikoga road. Thank God our people and the road shall survive the regime. In his first term in office, the Governor did not hide his hard feelings that Yewa will not benefit from his regime since the people did not vote for him.

He singled out Ayetoro township road just because he needed the support and concurence of the Speaker of OGHA and the House for the loan bond and other approvals.

The Governor used Ilo-Awela road and otta-Oju ore roads to cause a division between Yewa and Awori people but to no avail. He decidedly went for the so called longest road cutting accross four LG areaswhich till date never gone beyond few kilometres from the start point to deceive our people that his administration is doing something in Yewa arear.

He came to Ilaro our Senatorial headquarter after so much noise on the eve of 2014 elections to demolish houses destroyed the existing road networks with a giant hope of constructing another overhead bridge at Ilaro. ..the rest are stories for another day.

Our third offence is that GNI gave him a thorough challenge in his bid for 2nd term during the 2014 elections while our traditional rulers erred by not stopping GNI from challenging him at the tribunal up to the supreme court. I’m not sure where this type of step had been taken in the State in the past.

The questions we have always asked are:1. when in democracy it became an offence to contest elections against an individual and an incumbent governor when in the real sense of it Governor Amosun himself also did same agsinst OGD to emerge the State Governor. ‎We knew how our Governor left PDP to ACN where God answered his prayers.

2. When the number of votes cast in a particular arear become a yardstick for sighting of projects and for extending dividends of governance in real democracy.

3. When it becomes the responsibility of the traditional rulers to stop their subjects from contesting elections or challenging anyone in court of law.Today we are all watching how the seeds of discords is being sown against a community of people in a state that is jointly owned by three (3) sections of the state by a Governor who is an indigene of another zone.

It will definitely germinate and its fruits shall soon be in the market square for consumption at a later date. God knows our great grandfathers actuallyplayed their roles and paid their dues for the unity of the State and their bones interned in that purpose.

A view of the advertorial below will further explain our submission that Amosun administration has axe to grind with the Yewa and Awori people of Ogun west senatorial district of Ogun State.

This of course is against the oath of office he took as the Executive Governor of Ogun State unfortunately the eminent people in the State who suppose to also ask questions have chosen to keep silence over the continued subjugation and marginalization of our people. The Lord is on the throne
