Veteran Journalist Igwe dies at 58
A veteral Journalist and Sun Vice Chairman, Pastor Dimgba Igwe was this morning knocked down by a vehicle while jogging around his residence in the Okota area of Lagos.
Igwe, who was Editor of the famous and rested Weekend Concord sustained a fatal injury and was immediately taken to the hospital where he underwent surgical emergency, and died afterwards.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, the President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Femi Adeshina , described the death of the late journalist as shocking. “Yes it’s true. He was my boss, he was my mentor, I feel devastated about his death. This time last week, we were together at the NGE conference only to find out about his death this morning,” Mr Adeshina, who is also the Editor-in-Chief of Sun Newspaper, where Igwe was Vice-Chairman said.
Aged 58, Mr. Dimgba, alongside Mike Awoyinfa, pioneered Weekend Concord, The Sun Newspaper and co-authored several books including Osoba: The Newspaper Years, The Arts of Feature Writing and Mike Adenuga:
