UNBELIEVABLE: SSS Arrest Popular Musician For Singing Against President Jonathan’s Visit To Kano
A popular musician in Kano, Ahmed Audi Zarewa, has been reportedly arrested by the State Security Service, SSS, for recording a song to protest against President Goodluck Jonathan.
According to a report posted on El-Rufai.org, the artiste was said to have been arrested by the SSS on Tuesday for allegedly recording a
version of a Hausa folk song titled “Zuwan Mai Malfa Kano.”
The song was said to have been recorded by Ahmed to protest President Jonathan and his entourage’s singing and dancing rally held in
Kano the very morning that more than 200 teenage girls were kidnapped from a high school in Chibok, Borno State.
Ahmed was said to believe the action of the president was a clear illustration of his administration’s lack of respect for the Nigerian people.
It was gathered that the musician was placed under arrest by the SSS in a clear violation of his rights to freedom of speech.
