UEFA champions League resumes

Last night marked the first set of play offs in th UEFA Champions League as 16 of the 32 eligible teams faced one another in the Group Stage. In Group A,Manchester United beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 and top the Group while Real Sociedad lost 0-2 to Shakhtar Donetsk
Real Madrid FC tops Group B with a 6-1 away win over Galatasaray with a hat trick from Ronaldo while FC Copenhagen slugged out a 1-1 draw with Juventus
Group C had Benfica at home with a 2-0 lead over Anderlecht at Full Time while Olympiakos Piraeus lost 1 – 4 to Paris Saint-Germain at home,making PSG the leader of that Group.
In Group D,Current European Champions FC Bayern München finished with a 3 – 0 win over PFC CSKA Moskva and number 1 spot on the Group table as FC Viktoria Plzeň lost 0 – 3 to Manchester City FC at home.
In tonight’s draws, Group E’s Schalke 04 will play Steaua Bucureşti while Europa league Champions,Chelsea FC face Basel FC. In Group F,Arsenal FC will visit Marseille as Napoli plays hosts to Borrusia Dortmund. Group G’s Athletico Madrid plays hosts to Zenit St Petersburg while Austria Wien faces Porto FC. Group H will see Barcelona hosts Ajax while AC Milan hosts Celtic.
