UCL: Arsenal, Athletic Bilbao Through to Group Stages
Arsenal are through to the UEFA Champions League group stage after edging Besiktas at the Emirates stadium.
Former Barcelona man, Alexis Sanchez scored his first competitive goal for the club in first-half stoppage time, but Arsenal fought hard to finish higher as Mathieu Debuchy was sent off for a second bookable offence 15 minutes from time.
Athletic Bilbao also secured their place in the group stage of the Champions League after coming from behind to get a 3-1 victory over Napoli following a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
Malmo also overturned a first-leg deficit to see off Salzburg and book their place in the group stages. The Austrians led 2-1 in the first leg, but suffered a 3-0 defeat in Sweden.
Bayer Leverkusen cruised through with a 4-0 win over FC Copenhagen making it 7-2 on aggregate, completing the tally of teams competing in the UEFA Champions league.
