Trinidad and Tobago Player dies of Heart Attack
Trinidad and Tobago striker Kevon Carter has died of a suspected heart attack at the age of 30, the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) has announced.
Carter, who earned 25 caps for his country, died in hospital after complaining of
chest pains during a training session with his club Defence Force at Macqueripe ahead of the CFU Club Championship.
Sheldon Phillips, general secretary of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation, said in a statement from the CFU: “Words are inadequate to describe the emotions currently felt about the passing of Kevon.
“The young man had a quiet resolve about him and bounced back from a horrific leg injury to once again earn a spot on the national team. The entire football family is in mourning and our thoughts and prayers are with Kevon’s family and team-mates.”
