Transition Process begins as Members of National Assembly commence Packing
The management of the National Assembly issued a directive on Monday, ordering incumbent senators and House of Representatives members to remove their personal items from their offices in order to prepare them for re-allocation to incoming members.
According to reports, some incumbent members were seen carrying out the directive, and moving their personal effects away.
301 house of reps members and 76 senators lost their re-election bids during the 2015 general elections. The new and returning lawmakers are set to resume office after the incoming administration is sworn into office on May 29.
