Tottenham Hotspur Coach, André Villas-Boas Sacked

“The club can announce that agreement has been reached with head coach, Andre Villas-Boas, for the termination of his services. The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties,” read a statement on Spurs’s official website. “We wish Andre well for the future. We shall make a further announcement in due course.”

Villas-Boas became Spurs manager in July 2012 and led them to 5th in the Premier League last season. The Portuguese manager has struggled this campaign, however, with Sunday’s loss at Liverpool coming on the back of a 6-0 loss at Manchester City and a string of generally underwhelming domestic displays.

They are currently 7th, eight points behind leaders Arsenal.
Spurs have qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League but that has not proved enough for Villas-Boas, who was also sacked by Chelsea, to keep hold of his job at White Hart Lane.
