The leader of the opposition party in Nigeria and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday told the Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido that he was an “endangered specie” in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Tinubu who led other leaders of All Progressive Congress, APC to what could be called membership drive to Dutse, Government House, said as a progressive, Lamido should be in APC.

At the meeting with the embattled Jigawa State Governor, along side Tinubu were the acting national chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, Governor Kayode Fayemi and Lai Mohammed among others.

Tinubu told the embattled Jigawa State Governor that as a progressive, he was in the wrong party and had no reason to be in the PDP. He reminded Lamido that he was a member of the defunct Social Democratic Party, SDP with the rest of them.

Governor Sule Lamido however told the APC leadership that he remained a member of the PDP but he quickly added that his eyes were wide open and searching for soul mates he could team up with in other parties.

The team later visited Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State to discuss mutual interests with respect to the prevailing political situation in the Country. A source within the APC told NigerianEcho that the two governors were almost as good as members of APC. “I can confirm to you that not only the two Governors, but some others who are still in PDP have concluded plans to join our party”, the source said.
