Tinubu re-assures Nigerians of President Buhari’s Commitment to Rebuilding Nigeria

The All Progressives Congress’ national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has reassured Nigerians that  the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration will fulfil its campaign promises and rebuild the country.

In a goodwill message, the former governor of Lagos state thanked Nigerians for their faith in democracy and a better future, saying it was the fuel for the opposition’s victory.

He said: “Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we turn our energy, ardour and ability to the task at hand – building a better life for the good people of our beloved land. A new era is upon us. All here are blessed by the hand of great Providence to witness the re-awakening of our nation. This noble moment will endure long after we have expired.

“A new president has been inaugurated. A new government established and a commitment to build a new Nigeria has been consecrated in every bosom of the people. We celebrate the coming of President Buhari. In him, we have a leader who is as principled, determined and passionate.

“We celebrate because his election was a testament to the power of human decency and the sovereignty of the people over the weighty mass of power, money and awful privilege. Despite heavy inducements to move otherwise, the people voted for their better destiny in the last elections.

“We celebrate Nigeria’s friends from Africa and around the world for joining us today. Your presence is an expression of goodwill that shall not be forgotten. Your presence underscores for us the importance that Nigeria holds in the community of nations. That we have accomplished a peaceful transition of administrations of different political parties serves as a historical landmark.”

Urging Nigerians to support the new administration, especially with their prayers, he said: “They come into power at a difficult moment and will grapple with multiple challenges. May God give President Buhari the requisite wisdom and vision to accomplish the sober and grave tasks now thrust upon him,” he added.
