The NBA Leadership And The Necessity of A Bold Step: The Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo Okusanya Example

TAXED by the current trend in the annals of the Nigerian Bar Association where the need for a solid consolidation on virile, pragmatic and versatile Leadership arises, hence a BOLD step in the right direction by Mrs OYINKANSOLA BADEJO OKUSANYA,SAN. Given the general demands of the members of our dear Association in the course of engaging parley, there is a dire need for a radical orientationalists, who is tested with national responsibility, who is focused and determined to lead our noble association NBA, towards a new direction of progressive course is in dire need going forward.
There is no doubt, that we now have many revionists with crass opportunism in the system foisting fake narratives of ethnicity on the members in order to achieving their primordial agenda of stagnant loquacious leadership philosophy that would end the association nowhere. It is therefore become pertinent that we BOLDLY depart from that old catastrophe and shift to that hyper level of excellence in our body polity to be ably led by an impulsive agitator LIKE OYINKANSLA ,SAN who is known for excellence in public service with livid posture for progressivism..Taking this radical shift by this woman of substance and virtue not about an individual, but a demonstration of love and deep seated commitment for our noble organization, the NBA.
Good and BOLD leadership in any Organization brings hopes and energy to her members. It attracts the best minds as well as rich value system.
Good and BOLD leadership brings about quality and progressive policies in taking decisions. Good and BOLD leadership brings out the most purposeful, creative and innovative quality of the people and expands the capacity to share the pains, the gains and establish strong platform of tolerance, mutual support, corporation, innovation and equal opportunity for all. The thrust here is, no alternative to purposeful, honest, focused, dedicated and patriotic leadership with BOLD mindset as represented in person of MRS BOLD. Good leadership with BOLD Mindset in any organization propels the unity of members and sustain their hopes for common desires. In most cases, members in any giving organizations are most times victims of the spineless leadership at all levels. To break the shackles of bad leadership, a bold step and bold heart is required by the members of impulse to break the shackles ,by putting forward a fearless BOLD STRIKER Like MRS BOLD.
In times like this in NBA, where challenges of various kinds are raring their ugly heads at us as Lawyers, A BOLD CHARACTER is needed so as to build on the records and the achievements of current administration. The BOLDNESS of the current BOLD MOVEMENT deserves a great applause and attention from every lovers of advancement of our cherished NBA institution. When the need arose in the Great Britain, a BOLD woman came on board in person of MARGARET THATCHER, and solution to the pervading challenges was surmounted with A BOLD STEP. Kudos to the current NBA leadership for taking the NBA to higher ground of excellence. The Afam Osigwe Led leadership, has deliberately bring to bear, the deliberate efforts of idolizing the struggles and sacrifices of our heroes and heroines in the past to making the NBA greater again. I make bold to say, that we have in the past, had great leaders who occasioned good leadership for NBA in their capacities. Many fought a good fight and laid good legacy. Many had given everything they had to ensure the pride of our legal practice. They fought oppression and chauvinism. They gave their lives in the struggle to the unity of members and the unification of regional interest in the body polity of NBA .They resisted hegemonic manipulation politics in any form and discouraged every tendencies of tribalism. These heroes in the legal fields withstood the devastating impacts of unbridled interference of the revisionists and their co_travelers in the polarisation and the neo-colonization agenda in the NBA.
In essence, the BOLD STEP by the BOLD Movement is a good step in right direction given the dangerous trend the BAR is heading in bringing the virility and her oneness into the abyss of disrepute. At this point in time, focused and serious minded leadership is beckoned in dismantling the temple of ethnocentric ministration that is threatening the UNITY OF THE NBA. One year of bad leadership can take us back ten to twenty years. In other words, one year of bad leadership can contaminate and destroy ten solid years of progress and most importantly, our unity which is our strengths. This is why I say we cannot afford mistakes in our time. Atimes, our members get overwhelmed by emotions and allow themselves to be deceived and manipulated. Atimes, some so called leaders are effective at manipulating the members and play on their sensibilities. At other times, they did not tell the truth; they say what they did not mean or what they cannot deliver on. They manipulate class religion, ethnicity and other primordial considerations to get to foist their stooges on the majority at the detriment of our unity and national collectivism.
THE BOLD and the Bold movement that will engender our unity, growth of our association and the developmental strides is fundamental to our next Leadership decision. The BOLD movement ably represented by the BOLD SPIRIT should be given priority. This is not the time to make ethnocentrism a factor and use considerations that are not based on merit, capacity and BOLDNESS is a leadership choice that must be made. I belief this is the time to identify, support, encourage and work with A FIGURE SERVANT who Is BOLDLY ready to ensuring a focused and all-inclusive organizational Leadership full of inspiration and motivation, ove and a sense of mission in the interest of NBA and her members.
It is a truism to say that the leaders that we chose, support, encourage and repose our confidence in building a sound leadership that is sensitive to the collective yearnings of members must be of sheer force of character, collected and BOLD. Such a person must be known to be credible, honest, reliable, progressive and capable. Such a Person must have passion and total commitment to the people_ this can be seen from their records, writings and statement over the years while in the service of humanity. Such a Lawyer must be courageous to take BOLDLY subjugate challenges and not flip flop on opportunistic grounds of ethnicity. Such a power Seeker must be knowledgeable with exposure and education with proper moral upbringing as this cannot be compromised in this contemporary age of globalization. Such a person must full of sensitivity and be compassionate. Such a BOLD fellow must have humility, vision and ability to absorb criticism as recipe for success. Such a BOLD servant must have a NATIONAL OUTLOOK and cut across regional lines. Such a servant must not be mundane but full of vision and creativity_ without these traits and values, it is not possible to think deep, strong and purposefully move NBA forward in this contemporary times. Such a person must be understanding_possessive and have respect for the organization’s history, norms and practices, uphold the inherent positive value of the NBA; her tradition, capacity to work with diverse interests, tolerant and belief in the NBA lasting legacies and above all, the FEAR OF GOD!
NBA needs A BOLD Figure that will transform beauracratic pattern into the institutional realities and commit self to higher ideal of service and unity of the Bar at all levels.A new sense of responsibility for an advanced NBA as Projected by OYINKANSOLA BADEJO OKUSANYA, SAN
