Tambuwal Withdraws Suit against IGP and AG
The Speaker of the House of Representatives and Presidential aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, Aminu Tambuwal, has withdrawn his suit challenging the removal of his security detail following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party.
Tambuwal’s case against the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba and the Attorney-General of Nigeria, Mohammed Bello Adoke, resumed in court on Monday, but his lawyer, Barrister Tunji Abayomi, asked for the annulment of the suit, citing instruction by the speaker as his reason.
The Lawyer for the IGP and , Barrister Ade Okeaya-Inneh, opposed the withdrawal, asking the court to dismiss the entire suit and reward his clients for their troubles.
The presiding judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed, struck out the suit but didn’t fine Tambuwal.
