The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal returned to the National Assembly Complex on Tuesday to resume office again after Justice Ahmed Mohammed of a Federal High Court in Abuja ruled out an application seeking a restraint against him from discharging his duties.

The application was filed before the court by a member of the House House of Representatives, Abiodun Akinlade after officers of the Nigerian police force invaded the National Assembly on November 20 and stopped Tambuwal from entering into the National Assembly’s premises.

The Senate Ad hoc Committee in its investigation of the invasion of the National Assembly has been informed that the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wilson Inalegwu, issued the directive ordering the closure of the federal parliament on November 20.

The committee chaired by Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has therefore summoned the FCT police commissioner to appear before the committee at its next sitting to explain the reason he ordered the National Assembly’s Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to shut down the complex.
