A house suspected to be a ritual den was this morning discovered in Ilaro, the headquarters of Yewa South Local Government of Ogun State, South West, Nigeria.

NigerianEcho learnt that the house was discovered when a neighbour living around the building reported an unlawful act being carried out almost on daily basis by the owner of the building to the CDA Chairman.

According to findings, the neighbour had informed the CDA chairman that he and his co-tenants normally hear strange sounds in the midnight, like carpentary works.

Another neighbour who is an Hausa man and a Dangote Cememt Factory Staff in Ibese, told our reporters, “Na every night dem dey nak am for something inside, we no dey sleep, dem dey disturb everybody for street”

This morning a move to search the house by both health officials and policemen led by DPO in the area were rebuffed by the owner who demanded for a search warrant which was later issued.

The action attracted the presence of the Executive Chairman of Yewa South Local Government, Hon Safiu Odebiyi.

Policemen made frantic effort to prevent angry youths who had mobilised themselves from entering the premise located at Dosumu street in the town but, after police had successfully taken away the owner of the building and his family away, the mob entered the house, destroyed properties and set it ablaze.

Things discovered in the building include: a burial ground, 2 sealed caves, 2 uncovered soak away at the backyard of the building, 2 pairs of laptops which was destroyed by the angry mobs, 2 big generators with 2 small tiger generators was also destroyed by the angry mobs, brand new and unfixed air conditioners were also found

However, the question on the lips of the crowd at the scene was the way the building was constructed. The owner of the house used five corrugated iron sheet to wrapped the wall of the building from within and also use same to construct two other rooms.

The pictures as captured by our reporters before it was burnt show it all.
