Supreme Court Judgement: Salako Congratulates Abiodun on His Victory
Nigeria’s Minister of State for Environment, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, has congratulated the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on his victory at the Supreme court. Dr. Ladi Adebutu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 gubernatorial election had appealed the judgment of the court of Appeal which declared Abiodun as the duly elected Governor of the Stated. In its ruling on Friday, the Supreme court affirmed the judgement of the court of Appeal. Salako in a statement on Friday said Abiodun’s victory will reinvigorate his administration so as to deepen human and capital development in the gateway state.
“It gives me a great delight to congratulate, my dear Governor, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun CON on the Supreme Court Judgment of today affirming him as the duly elected Governor of Ogun State. This is a God ordained victory that is marvellous in our eyes and we bless HIM for the favour.
“The Judgment which is the final confirmation of the overwhelming will of the people of Ogun State as expressed for the APC in the 2023 gubernatorial election is not only deserving, it is an attestation that democracy is taking firmer root in our country. I commend the supreme court judges for demonstrating again that the Court is the beacon of hope for the people and democracy in Nigeria.
“With this victory, I am confident that all distractions in the path of governance in Ogun State has reached their end and the government of Ogun State under Prince Dapo Abiodun is reinvigorated to deepen infrastructural and human capital development of the State.
“I will like to call on members of the opposition to join hands with Governor Dapo Abiodun on his mission to take our State further forward so that our people can benefit more on the delivery of dividend of democracy with a Renewed Hope”, Salako noted
