Sunday Tragedy: Car Rams into a Catholic Church during Mass

Four persons have been reportedly injured after a car lost control in Agboroko area of Lagos during an early morning Mass in a nearby Church of Assumption.
Report say the driver of a black Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) was trying to reverse when its brake failed, the vehicle broke into the church wall and headed straight to the altar.
Church member were left in shock as the experience seemed like a movie scene “The mass was still on and suddenly we heard a loud noise. At first, I thought it was an explosion and when I looked back, I saw a car running towards the altar, scattering chairs and hitting worshippers.”
Eyewitness said “Many bones were broken, only God will rescue them,” Victims have been rushed to a nearby hospital, but three of them were rejected and referred to National Orthopedic Hospital in Igbobi Lagos as a result of the degree of the injuries.
The parish priest, Father Pius Omefuma said ‘ The devil is at work. But no need to panic. God is in control. We pray that all the families involved will take heart and the victims recover quickly. Let’s continue with the mass. We thank God that it didn’t go more than this. It could have been worse”
