Anenih’s Benin GRA Residence now on Comrade Olaitan Oyerinde Crescent
Governor Adams Oshiomhole on Wednesday in Benin honored the slain social crusader and labour activist, Olaitan Oyerinde by renaming Delta Crescent on GRA, Benin City Comrade Olaitan Oyerinde Crescent. The announcement was made at the Service of Songs organized for Comrade Oyerinde who was gruesomely assassinated on Friday, 4thMay by unknown assailants in Benin City.
The decision by Oshiomhole to renamed the street after Oyerinde has been described as a welcome development given that Chief Anthony Anenih residence is located right on the street. Following the killing of Oyerinde, Governor Oshiomhole pointed accusing fingers at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and particularly Chief Anthony Anenih. The death of Oyerinde in the hands of unknown assailants came at the heels of the controversies that surrounded ghastly motor accident which claimed the lives of some journalists on the entourage of the Governor Oshiomhole and the botched assassination attempt targetted at the Commissioner of Information, Louis Odion.
The late Comrade Olitan Oyerinde would be buried in his home town, Ede, Osun State on Thursday, 10th, May.
