The Senate President, David Mark has implored politicians seeking election to put the wishes of the people before theirs and allow the rule of law prevail in the 2015 general elections.

The Senate President’s Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, released a statement in Abuja on Thursday, quoting Mark as saying that, “violence, intimidation or rancour should not be part of our politics. People should be freely allowed to make their choices without manipulation.”

He said only the mandate of the people would be sustainable in 2015 and that elections can only take place in an atmosphere of peace .

“Therefore, we must all work for peace and unity of our country. We can only realise our individual ambitions if Nigeria exist in an atmosphere of peace.

“We should not let hell lose if people refuse to elect us. It is their right to chose who should rule or govern them.”
