Senator Uche Ekwunife the recently acked senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has revealed why she left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Ekwunife said she was forced to leave PDP because of the party’s leadership ineptitude.

Ekwunife made the disclosure while addressing hundreds of her supporters, including PDP members who followed her to join APC, at her campaign Organisation’s headquarters in Awka.

Leadership reports that the senator whose senatorial victory was nullified last year by a Court of Appeal sitting at Enugu on the basis that the PDP primary which producedher as candidate for that election was not conducted in compliance with the electoral guidelines, said she was disappointed in the PDP leadership.

Expressing her disappointment, she said that since after the court judgement, the party leadership has neither condemned the verdict nor initiated any plan to correct the anomaly as stated by the appeal court notwithstanding that the periodwhen such action could be taken before the conduct of the ordered repeat poll by the court was almost running out.

Ekwunife said it was better for her to join the APC, noting thatshe is already on campaigns for her return to the senate, to complete her contract with the people of Anambra central district.
