Security during Salah: Kastina partially bans Okada
Katsina State government has announced partial ban on commercial motorcycles and tricycles better known as Achaba (another name for Okada in the Northern Nigeria) and Keke NAPEP in the State.
The Police Commissioner, Muhammad Hurdi, who announced banning shortly after a security meeting on Friday, said all commercial cyclists are expected to seize operations in the State from 9:30p.m to 6:00a.m daily.Hurdi said the ban was effective from Friday and will cover all parts of the State, adding that the ban will also remain in force until further notice.
He said the ban on the operations of the activities of the motorcyclists and Keke NAPEP would boost security of the lives and properties of the people.
The commissioner appealed to the people to continue to support government policies and programmes and to live in peace with one another for harmony and progress to reign.
He promised that security agents in the State would continue to protect the lives and properties of the citizens in the state.
Hurdi also charged motorists and other road users to be cautious while driving during the upcoming Sallah festivities.
