Cote D’Ivoire Moves A Step to 2014 FIFA World Cup In Brazil

Cote D’ivoire has partially secured a spot in the 2014 World Cup,after defeating Senegal 3-1 at home in their first leg play-off qualifier.
Didier Drogba and Solomon Kalou both put their names on the scoresheet for the home team while Senegalese Lamine Sané scored an own goal to cement their lead.
Papiss Cisse,however replied a goal very late for the Senegalese, keeping the scoresheet at 3-1.
Drogba’s goal was scored from a penalty after just 4 minutes when Gervinho was brought down inside the penalty box. Lamine Sané’s own goal came in the 14th minute.
Gervinho’s assist helped Kalou score just few minutes into the second half while an uncleared corner gave Senegal their one reply in the 96th minute.
The return match will be played on November in 16 Morocco as Senegal is banned from home matches after violence erupted at their last match against Cote D’ivoire in Senegal.
