The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Ogun State, Senator Akin Odunsi,  has said the rural areas in the state have been neglected by Governor Ibikunle Amosun.

Odunsi said this while speaking at the party’s mega rally held on Wednesday at the Ake Palace Ground in Abeokuta, in the presence of the leader of the party Chief Olusegun Osoba; his wife, Aderinsola; the chairman of the party, Chief Olu Agemo; and elder statesmen, Chief Olaniwun Ajayi and Chief Ayo Adebanjo, and multitudes of supporters of the party.

He said, “If elected, this administration as one of its seven-point agenda, will pursue integrated rural development and development, because there is no evidence of governance in the rural areas.

“We have discovered that there is no evidence of governance in all the rural areas of the state, apart from what Chief Olusegun Osoba had done when he was the governor of the state.”

While promising provision of qualitative education, qualitative health care delivery, potable water and a conducive environment for industrialists and employment, He said, “A lot of our communities are in darkness, we will also embark on integrated power project. We will change from the monolithic infrastructural development to all critical sectors.”
