Salako Commends Tinubu on The Upgrade of Polytechnic To Federal University of Technology Ilaro, Says Yayi Deserves Some Accolades
The Federal Polytechnic Ilaro has been upgraded to Federal University of Technology Ilaro (FUTI). The bill to upgrade the Poly to a University which was passed by both the Senate and House of Representatives was assented to by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and was announced at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly by the President of Senate, Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
The Minister of State for Health and Social welfare, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, has commended the President for the birth of FUTI. In a statement signed by him and made available to nigerianecho.com.ng on Thursday, Salako said the news of the assent of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to the bill upgrading Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro to Federal University of Technology, Ilaro is another milestone achievement in the inclusive approach of the President to governance.

“I join the good people of Ogun West Senatorial District, the immediate beneficiaries of Federal University of Technology, Ilaro and all lovers of education in Nigeria to thank Mr. President for making University education more accessible to Nigerians by this upgrade.
“It is significant to note that under the current federal government, infrastructural development across Nigeria is receiving priority attention with Ogun West Senatorial District not being left behind.”
He also applauded the sponsor of the bill, the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola also known as yayi for his enormous efforts that saw to the fruition of the University.
“In the same vein, I want to specially appreciate the sponsor of this historic bill; Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola YAYI and other members of the National Assembly especially those fron Ogun West Senatorial District who supported the passage of the bill before it received the assent of Mr. President.
“I congratulate the people of Ogun West and our traditional rulers especially the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR for this new addition to the educational development of the land.”
